Department of equipment research and design(DERD), founded in 1958, is one of key departments of RINPO and the birthplace of first unclear steam generator of China. DERD has engaged in nuclear equipment researching for over 40 years and is the only department who has experienced nuclear main component research, manufacture audit and operating research. So far, DERD has become the research base for nuclear steam generators of China.
　　DERD staff include 3 professor ship senior engineers, 10 senior engineers,18 engineers.
DERD updated the approved certificate of pressure vessel design last years. DERD has been awarded the qualification certificate of civil nuclear pressure vessel design approved by National Nuclear Safety Administration.
　　DERD took part in Chinese first national nuclear power plant design. DERD has offered technical services for nuclear power plant, such as steam generator secondary side sludge lancing, ITV inspection, etc.
Update to now, DERD has established technological and business relation with research institutes and incorporations in the U.S, France, Germany, Japan, etc.

■ Fields for Service
　　DERD emphasizes on providing all round technical services related to nuclear SG and other pressure vessels under the principle of serving for nuclear power plant.

　　Design and development: nuclear steam generator design, heat exchanger design, pressure vessel design, special tool developing.

　　Experiment and analysis for nuclear steam generator: thermo-hydraulic testing and analysis for tube bundle; moisture separator testing and analysis; flow induced vibration testing and analysis; stress analysis for components and parts.

　　Engineering analysis and experiment service: large scale thermal test facility service; high power thermo-hydraulic testing ;material corrosion and high temperature sealed testing; three-dimensional laser Doppler measuring service; hi-temperature, hi-pressure two phase flow optical probe measuring service.
